Chocolate Chip Granola Bars
I love Granola bars, they are chewy and full of flavors. I eat them everyday on my lunch break. They are just so easy to grab and it can literally fit it in my pocket.
Ingredients
Grains
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 2 cups Rice krispies cereal
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds (optional)
Baking and spices
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Condiments
- 1/3 cup honey
Oils and Vinegars
- 5 tbsp coconut oil
Directions:
- Preheat oven 350 degree
- In separate pan, over medium heat add coconut oil, brown sugar, vanilla extract and honey. Mix them well. After the sugar is dissolved, turn off the heat.
- In the baking pan, use parchment sheet and spray non stick spray. Pour some old fashioned oats and bake it for few minutes. It should be golden brown, don't let it get burned.
- In a bowl, add old fashioned oats, rice krispies, chocolate chips,sunflower seeds and salt. Then pour the honey sugar sauce all over the old fashioned oats. Mix them well.
- Then pour the mix on the 8*8 pan with parchment paper. Press the mixture into the pan.
- Place it in freezer for 45 minutes. Then remove the parchment paper and cut it into pieces.
